“Flying” with the Asymmetrical Spinnaker – Obtain your Spinnaker Endorsement!
Whether cruising or racing, the asymmetrical spinnaker is an indispensable resource for maximizing your sailboat’s performance when reaching or sailing downwind. There are different “Asyo”s” for different reaching/downwind wind angles and conditions, such as the Code Zero, A2, A3, … We’ll teach you how to select and rig the right sail to get you either around the race course or to your next cruising destination more quickly and safely.
Prerequisites: Competent Crew: able to work at the skipper’s direction to safely handle halyards, sheets, and winches, and steer a steady course; familiarity with sail trim concepts; must be in good physical condition, able to move around the boat while underway.
