Captain Charles Buckner established Nautical Ventures in 2013 to provide a means for Adventurers to realize their dreams of experiencing a sailing lifestyle, and provide affordable support services to current or future yacht owners.
Charles has over 20,000 miles of ocean crossings, extensively in the South Pacific (especially enjoyed reaching in trade winds from the Galapagos Islands thru French Polynesia, Niue, Tonga, and Fiji), throughout the north island group in New Zealand (with incredible weather dynamics), navigating the Great Barrier Reef and points up and down Australia. Charles has also enjoyed navigating tides and currents to reach and explore coves and anchorages in the Florida Keys, the Isles of Brittany and in Greece.
Charles is passionate about helping people discover their adventurous spirit and empowering them to realize their dreams.
Captain Charles has 25 years sailing experience and is USCG licensed Master (to 100GT). He entered Merchant Marine service in 2005. He is also a certified rescue diver, with Scuba diving experience from Cenotes in Mexico, Australia’s Great Barrier Reef and many points in between. Please visit his Blog page where Charles will share some of his sailing and diving adventures and respond to specific requests for information from fellow or would-be explorers.
In 2018, Captain Charles earned his certification as a NauticEd Sailing Instructor/Assessor, adding Sailing School credentials to Nautical Ventures.
